City Olympics Team Canada Nike Quest "Team Issued Stick"
Super Mario led Canada to gold at the 2002 Olympics with another clutch
performance on international ice versus Team USA. This custom made Nike
Quest 3 model wood stick with black, red and white graphics including Team
Canada across the shaft was team issued to #66 but never saw any game
action. Factory stamped M.LEMIEUX high up on the shaft the stick shows no
signs of use or taping of the knob or blade. Interestingly it displays a red
gripper at the knob end which may have been added at the time for Lemieux to
try out however we have not been able to find game photos from the
tournament showing Mario actually using a gripper. Nonetheless the blade has
been nicely signed in bold black marker "To Stu Best Wishes Your Friend
Mario Lemieux. From the collection of former Team Canada and Edmonton Oilers
