Wayne Gretzky
Los Angeles Kings Game Used Easton Hockey Stick
"Used in the
game he took his very
Last Penalty
Shot in the NHL"
This dazzling Easton Aluminum
Gretzky HXP 5100 Model was used by the Great One on Jan 5, 1991 vs the
Toronto Maple Leafs. Following the game Gretzky tossed the stick to it's
original owner (who was a former Easton Sales Rep) after he jokingly remarked..."sure
Wayne now you go with Easton now that I am gone!" On this night the Great One
picked up two assists and he also took what turned out to be his last career
penalty shot which albeit an unsuccessful attempt against Leafs goalie Peter Ing. Although it can not be confirmed if this is the exact stick used in the
penalty shot it is cool to know exactly when it was used! Stick shows nice game use
on the bulldog tape on the blade and has a shaved down gripper on the butt end. Trainer coding on
butt end reads: A9. Simply a great early Easton gamer! |
